2026 is starting strong

We’re pleased to welcome you into the new year with an exciting update from site.

Golden Sedayu Construction has maintained strong momentum over the festive period, with the successful installation of the tower crane for Somerset East. The erection of the crane marks a key milestone for Burswood Point, signalling the vertical commencement of the first building within the broader 38-hectare masterplanned community. View the drone video here.

At Somerset East, the basement slab is currently undergoing waterproofing and preparation works in readiness for the next stage of structural pours, while excavation works continue at Somerset West down to the required basement pad level.

Once the second tower crane is erected next month, basement slab works will continue through to Somerset West, enabling construction to progress concurrently across both buildings.

We’ll continue keep you updated on our progress, but for more frequent and visual updates, we encourage you to follow Burswood Point on Instagram and Facebook.

We’re also pleased to advise completion remains on track for Q4 2027.

Construction activity has intensified with the arrival of a second piling rig last month. This addition has accelerated the pace of the piling phase and significantly increased productivity. The site is a hive of activity as we bring Somerset’s vision to life from the ground up.

Right now, the team’s focus remains on the piling works, which form the deep concrete foundations. Looking ahead to the coming months, we will begin sheet piling around the site’s perimeter. This will mark a new stage in the development, preparing the site for excavation by helping to safely retain the surrounding soil as we dig deeper. We’ll also begin ground improvement works, essential preparations that strengthen the soil for the transition to groundworks and basement excavation.

Somerset East & West is estimated reach completion in Q4 2027.

The Golden Sedayu Construction team has completed the setup of site offices and we are now fully mobilised for the exciting journey ahead.

One of the major milestones this month was delivery of the piling rig last week and commencement of piling this week. The first main pile of the two towers was successfully installed today, marking a critical step in the foundation works.

The scale of the piling process is significant, with a total of 177 piles to be installed between now and October. Each pile varies in diameter – either 600mm, 900mm, or 1050mm.

Following completion of the piling, bulk excavation will commence, which will allow for concrete pours and construction of the basement to begin.
