Burswood Point Joins Chinese New Year Ball 2024 with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese MP and Other Notable Figures
Golden Sedayu, a partnership between local Australian Golden Group and Indonesian Agung Sedayu Group , as the developer of Burswood Point, is humbled to be the major sponsor of the Chinese New Year Ball 2024, held in the Crown Ballroom on 19 February 2024.
The event was co-hosted by Chinese diaspora communities in Western Australia, the Western Australian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC), the Chung Wah Association, and the Australia China Friendship Society of Western Australia, and supported by various organisations and associations.
Approximately 700 guests attended the event including notable community leaders and members, Australian and multinational corporations, SMEs, and dignitaries from Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.
Several important guests that attended the event include Australian Prime Minister Hon Anthony Albanese MP, Western Australia Premier Hon Roger Cook MLA, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Australia His Excellency Xiao Qian, Lord Mayor of Perth Hon Basil Zempilas, Mr. Sam Lim MP, Hon Patrick Gorman MP, Hon Matt Keogh MP, Senator the Hon Don Farrell, Hon Andrew Giles MP, and Hon Madeleine King MP, Hon Doctor Tony Buti MLA, Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA. Hon David Michael MLA. Hon Hannah Beazley MLA, Dr. Jagadish Krishnan MLA, Mr. Yaz Mubarakai MLA, Hon Pierre Yang MLC, Mr. David Scaife MLA, and various leaders and members of communities.
In his speech, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese MP has stated the importance of bilateral relationship between Australia and China, and how Western Australia has contributed to the effort.
“You can see the contribution that Western Australian resources have made to China’s extraordinary economic transformation, a transformation that in recent decades has seen more people lifted out of poverty than has occurred in any country in human history over that period of time, an enormous achievement.”
The Managing Director of Golden Sedayu Mr. Andrew Sugiaputra expressed his gratitude to the Asian diaspora community, the local government and ministry, stakeholders, Western Australia Premier Hon Roger Cook MLA, and Australian Prime Minister Hon Anthony Albanese MP who has made the event possible.

During the event, Golden Sedayu announced a monetary donation of AUD 1,300,000 to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute as a humanitarian effort to give back to the local community, especially in Western Australia.
Madam Mimi Wong AM, Chairwoman of Golden Group, Member (AM) in the Honorary Division of the Order of Australia, and Ambassador for Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute has been a staunch supporter of health advancement, especially in cardiac health research for several decades. She hoped that her company could always assist in humanitarian causes across Western Australia.
